Honda Jazz – In terms of practicality nothing comes close to rivalling against the Honda Jazz. The designs in the A-pillar panels offer great visibility, while endowing the vehicle with a general airy feel. The infotainment system of this car is not as great as those found in the Baleno or the Elite i20 but the touch screen AC controls and other stuff compensate for these drawbacks. In addition to this, the Jazz also comes with a 100PS 1.5 litre diesel engine and a 90PS 1.2 litre petrol engine, which are the most powerful ones in the segment. The car also features the segment first magic seats and claims a fuel efficiency of 27.3kmpl which is best in class.

Hyundai Elite i20 - Design and appeal has always been major factors so having said that, the Hyundai Elite i20 is definitely one of the best looking premium hatchbacks available in the country now. Hyundai’s Fluidic Sculpture 2.0 design language of the Elite i20 is comparatively a lot more attractive, than the origami style look of Honda Jazz or for that matter the flowing liquid look of the Baleno. This premium hatchback also comes with a 90PS 1.4 litre diesel unit and an 82PS 1.2 litre petrol engine that may appear inferior to those that power the Jazz but are more powerful than the engine options available in Maruti Baleno. The interiors of this car might not come across as much flashy as the other two cars but features include rear AC vents, which score in favour of this car.

This car comes with highly upmarket interiors, the highlight of which is Apple’s CarPlay system which lets us pair the iPhone with the touch screen infotainment system of the car. The Baleno also comes with GPS navigation and a digital MID. The Baleno comes with a 12 V charger. Under the hood, it comes with an option of either a 1.2 litre petrol engine or a 1.3 litre diesel engine that generates 84PS and 75PS, output respectively.
