2016 Mahindra Bolero Facelift in The Making
The leading utility car manufacturer of India Mahindra & Mahindra is now gearing up for a new face lifted version of its popular and much acclaimed car, the Bolero. A prototype of what is being speculated to be the face lifted avatar of Bolero has been doing the rounds all over the Internet, indicating at the imminent arrival of the SUV.
The latest spy snaps of the Bolero facelift has been seen in which the test mule is seen partially disguised, hinting that the main changes have been brought about to these covered parts. The changes are expected to be restricted to cosmetic modifications only. From the photos, the size and dimensions of the face lifted model of the Bolero seems to be the same as the present model and the styling of the car also looks identical.
Talking about the changes, the Bolero facelift is probably going to get a re-styled rear bumper with tweaked tail lights. Although from the images, the front face of the car is not much visible; it looks like the front end of the face lifted car will receive minor changes. Inside the cabin too, the new Bolero model could get certain changes like a new dashboard, new seat upholstery and more. Mechanically, the Bolero new model is expected to have with the same engine. At present the Bolero is driven by a 2.5 litre m2DICR four cylinder diesel engine, which can produce 63bhp of output at 3200rpm and 195Nm of peak torque at 1400 to 2200 rpm. It comes coupled with a five speed manual gearbox.
Earlier it was reported by various sources in media that Mahindra and Mahindra is working on a sub four metre Bolero with a smaller engine. Internally referred to using the codename of U108, the small Bolero would be the newest member in the sub four metre car range of Mahindra, which also includes the TUV300, KUV100 and NuvoSport. The introduction of the small Bolero is likely to be seen in the second half of 2016.
