Nissan Motor sells 3000 units of Datsun redi-GO since launch
Nissan Motor had introduced the redi-GO compact car under the Datsun brand, and it has been pitted against the Alto from Maruti Suzuki and Hyundai's Eon. Nissan had launched Datsun GO in 2014, marking the global return of the brand after almost three decades. "This unprecedented growth of Datsun brand is due to the phenomenal response Datsun redi-GO is getting from people across the country," Nissan Motor Managing Director Arun Malhotra said in a company release statement. "In just 23 days since its launch, close to 3,000 units of redi-GO have been sold. These are exciting times for Datsun and we look forward to delivering more cars to our customers," he said.
Datsun redi-GO on The Top
Datsun redi-GO is now available across 274 sales and service outlets. This car is priced at INR 2.39 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). The redi-Go has been built on the same CMF-A platform as the Kwid from French car major Renault, and comes with overall dimensions which are 3,429 mm of length, 1,560 mm of width and 1,541 mm of height. It has got an impressive ground clearance of 185 mm which is the most in its class and also comes with a boot space of 222 litre. Powering the redi-Go is a 799cc three cylinder petrol engine that produces 53bhp output and a peak torque of 72Nm. The redi-Go is said to deliver a fuel efficiency of 25.17 kmpl. The engine comes coupled with a five speed manual gearbox.
Redi-Go, the entry level hatchback car from the house of Datsun, is set to compete with the front runners in the segment like Maruti Alto 800, Hyundai Eon and Renault Kwid in the Indian car industry. The redi-Go, which is the third offering from Datsun to the Indian market, has been priced attractively starting with Rs. 2.38 lakh for the base model (ex-showroom Delhi).
