Renault launches Kwid Climber
Renault, a French automobile company, has launched five models in the Indian market with the Kwid Climber being the latest launch. The Renault Kwid was launched in the Indian market in the year 2015 and since then has brought out other variants with the latest 2017 launch of The Kwid Climber which is available in both manual and automated options.
The Renault Kwid Climber carries forward the features of the top-spec RXT (O) variant of the Kwid but is installed with additional cosmetic updates. The 1.0-litre unit powering this car is a three-cylinder engine producing 68 bhp of power at 5,500rpm and 91Nm of torque at 4,250rpm. The car comes in manual transmission and AMT variants, both of which are five speed gear boxes. The new variant of Renault Kwid measures 3992mm in length, 1579mm in width, 1513mm in height and a wheelbase of 2422 mm giving you a comfortable ride. A ground clearance of 180 mm ensures a smooth ride even on bumpy roads. The Renault Kwid Climber comes with new 6 spoke wheel cover. The car also claims a mileage of 23.1km/l which brings it into the category of fuel efficient cars.
A wide range of new features have been added to spunk up the look of the interior as well as the exterior of the car. The exterior is gazed up with features like new front bumper over riders and faux skid plates with orange highlights, glossy orange highlights on outside rear-view mirrors and roof rail, orange indicators on its front fenders, ‘Climber’ decals on front doors and rear windshield, door protection cladding (which is optional in the regular version) and a new set of alloy wheels. New ‘Electric Blue’ shade has been added along with the two existing color options – Outback Bronze and Planet Grey. When it comes to the interiors fewer details have been added. It comes with orange inserts everywhere, such as the ‘Orange Energy’ upholstery with ‘Climber’ embossed on the headrests, orange door appliqués, two-tone orange gear shift knob (manual), steering wheel with orange perforations and ‘Climber’ insignia. New floor console with two cup holders have been installed along with chrome contour on the instrument cluster and orange highlights on the central console and side AC vents.
Features like the power windows, touch screen infotainment system with navigation as well as USB and AUX support make their way into the Kwid Climber. The car also comes equipped with seatbelt pre-tensioner and driver side airbag which boosts the overall safety. It however lacks ABS which is available in the earlier hatch back variant.
The Kwid Climber has been launched at an introductory price of Rs 4.30 lakh that is Rs 29,000 more than its standard Renault Kwid 1.0-litre RXT (O) counterpart. The manual transmission variant of the Kwid Climber has been priced at Rs 4,30,376 and the AMT variant has been priced at Rs 4,60,376.
